Sharp launches wall-fit air purifier for Singapore homes

Sharp has launched the Purefit Plasmacluster Air Purifier in Singapore for rooms of up to 62 square metres.

Sold as the FX-S82E-B/L, the new model comes in Stone Gray and Stone Black and is priced at S$744. It is designed for households that want an air purifier that can sit against a wall rather than occupy a prominent position in a room.

The device combines dual-sided air intake with a triple-filter system on each side. This is intended to maintain airflow at lower fan speeds while reducing turbulence and noise during work, rest and sleep.

Each side includes a washable pre-filter, an activated carbon deodorising filter and a NanoHD Plus filter. Sharp says the pre-filter captures larger dust particles and pet hair, the carbon filter targets odours including cigarette smoke and pet smells, and the NanoHD Plus filter captures fine particles including PM2.5, PM10, pollen, mould, bacteria and pet dander.

The purifier also uses Sharp's Plasmacluster ion technology, which releases positive and negative ions. The company says the technology has been used in more than 100 million products worldwide and verified by more than 40 institutes and organisations.

Wall-fit design

A key part of the design is what Sharp calls Wall Fit COANDA Airflow. The system directs purified air upwards and across a room along the wall and ceiling, while a faster rear airstream is intended to draw in dust from lower levels.

This approach is intended to let the unit operate effectively while placed against a wall. The purifier has a maximum airflow of 7.0 cubic metres per minute.

The model has also received the Allergy UK Seal of Approval following testing by the British Allergy Foundation for reducing exposure to airborne dust mite allergens and pollen, according to Sharp.

Smart controls

The purifier includes six sensors to monitor particulate dust, odour, humidity, temperature and light. The system adjusts operation in response to changing indoor conditions, Sharp says.

Remote monitoring and control are available through the company's mobile app, which also supports Bluetooth pairing and a feature called AI Custom for personalised operation. The app includes Pet Mode for homes with cats or dogs and Haze Mode for periods of poorer outdoor air quality.

The launch reflects continued competition in the home air treatment market, where manufacturers are combining filtration, connected controls and interior-friendly designs to appeal to urban households. Pet owners have become a particular focus for brands trying to differentiate products through odour control and allergen reduction.

Sharp positions the Purefit line around integrating air treatment into daily home life. The company says indoor air quality remains an important issue for households with family members of different ages and health needs.

The product's compact form has already received the iF Design Award 2026, according to Sharp. The company says the award reflects the unit's small footprint and appearance, which are intended to suit a range of home interiors.

Maintenance centres on the side-mounted pre-filters, which can be cleaned by vacuuming without removing the panels. This is designed to simplify routine cleaning for users who run the purifier regularly.

The launch adds to Sharp's wider range of air-care products, an area in which the Japanese electronics group has long promoted ion-based treatment alongside mechanical filtration. In Singapore, the purifier is being sold through Sharp's online channels and selected retailers including Audio House, Best Denki, Courts, Gain City and Harvey Norman.

Product specifications list a recommended purification area of 62 square metres, a CADR rating of 480 cubic metres, inverter operation, dimensions of 285mm by 525mm by 285mm and a net weight of 7.2kg.

The unit includes two dust collection filters, two deodorising filters and two fine-mesh pre-filters, underscoring Sharp's focus on dual-sided intake as the model's central feature.
